b. 1986, USA. Nicholas (Nick) Benvenuto, MD is a documentary photographer and photojournalist based in New York City. His work documents people, places, and events that span the globe.

Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Nick went to college and medical school in Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude from Thomas Jefferson University in 2019 with a Doctor of Medicine (MD). Spurred by an unrelenting passion for travel and documentary, he ultimately pursued a career change in 2021 to freelance travel photography and videography. He began his journey as a visual storyteller by making simple videos about his travels to post on YouTube, mostly to share with friends and family back home as well as his growing audience. His passion for more in-depth reporting eventually led him to producing longer, cinematic documentaries exploring themes between people, culture, and history in many countries around the world.

Today, his main focus has shifted to still photography, where he pursues his enthusiasm for narrative storytelling through documentary photography and photojournalism. He has a particular passion for exploring humanitarian and social issues faced by ethnolinguistic and religious minorities around the world, such as work he has done with the Kurds of Iraqi Kurdistan, H'Mong of Northern Vietnam, and Sogdians of Tajikistan.

Entirely self-taught, he now spends approximately half of each year abroad, chronicling the lives and events of people and cultures around the world. He has traveled extensively in over 50 countries on 5 continents, with a particular enthusiasm for the Asia/Pacific region.
